PHARAON: NOT ONLY A PROJECT
This second number of our newsletter presents some updates from the last months and introduces one of the partners of the Italian pilot, Orthokey. It also explains why, in our opinion, Pharaon is not only an experimental project, but also a new way to see and address the need of innovation in providing services to older adults, particularly after the pandemic crisis.
These were the findings of an interesting conference about the dissemination of the project held on July, 24th where many social and institutional entities partecipated.
Since the design and implementation stages of the project there were intention and awareness of integrating not only different technologies but also the different missions and visions of each partner. Therefore, the interconnection of devices entails new partnerships between public institutions, providers of health and technological services, and R&D entities.
It’s a sort of mix of corporate, not for profit and public ideas with high added value for participants and mostly for the final users – i.e. older adults, formal or informal caregivers – who can get better life and work conditions.

PHARAON: NON SOLO UN PROGETTO
In questa seconda newsletter, oltre che raccontarvi quanto è stato fatto negli ultimi mesi e presentare un altro partner del network italiano, Orthokey, vorremmo condividere la crescente convinzione che Pharaon non è solo un progetto sperimentale, ma sempre più rappresenta un modo, una visione, per affrontare l’inderogabile innovazione, soprattutto alla luce della pandemia, nei servizi alle persone anziane.
E’, in fondo, quanto ci hanno detto i diversi interlocutori, istituzionali e della cooperazione sociale, con cui a fine luglio abbiamo realizzato una partecipata e qualificata conference call, la prima di una serie, di presentazione di Pharaon.
Fin dalla fase di costruzione della proposta progettuale vi era consapevolezza della necessità di provare ad integrare non solo le diverse soluzioni tecnologiche, ma anche le diverse mission degli attori partecipanti.
In altri termini, l’interconnessione dei dispositivi porta con sè forme di partnership nuove tra istituzioni, erogatori di servizi, produttori e centri di ricerca. Un mix fra profit, non profit e public ad alto valore aggiunto, per chi vi partecipa ma soprattutto per chi, utilizzando i dispositivi, può migliorare la propria condizione di vita e di lavoro, siano questi anziani, loro familiari, o cargiver professionali.
